About us
Founded in 1905, Colvend is an 18-hole, par 69 golf course set among the rolling hills of the Solway Coast in South West Scotland.
The original 9-hole course, designed by Willie Fernie, was re-designed by architect Dave Thomas, and subsequently extended to 18 holes in 1997 under course architect John Souter.
Two new holes were constructed and came in to play in 2007.
Information
Our testing 18-hole parkland course is situated on the Solway Coast in South West Scotland, conveniently located near to Dumfries, Dalbeattie and Castle Douglas.
The course has spectacular views across to the Cumbrian Fells and also to the Isle of Man.
Many of the holes offer challenging water features and tree lined fairways with the original 9 holes having small well-guarded greens and undulating fairways.
The 8th hole is one of the best par 3 holes in the area and is worthy of the stroke index 6.
The additional 9 holes that were opened in 1997 are now well established and offer golf of the highest quality.
